Picked up my new Canyon last night, right in the middle of a "severe winter storm" at a dealership 2 hours away haha. So far all my driving has been in 4x4 including the test drive last weekend it was also horrible weather the main highway was closed so I had to detour all around just to get to the city and to the dealer that day.
Speedometer Vehicle Car Gauge Odometer

Anyhow the drive was uneventful this truck feels like its glued to the road. The most stand out thing so far has been how much I like the stock Bose sound system, it is by far the best stock system I have herd. I have had good setups in the past and I have a pretty good ear for quality and I am very impressed with the all around performance of the system. Has pretty amazing bass for a factory setup with no subs, the door speakers hit the lows pretty good. I seen there is a Kicker Sub you can add to the bose system, I think I might get that and it might just make the system perfect.

Half way home I noticed the speedo only shows Metric (KM/h) I was bummed out that's how my Jetta was and it was annoying when I travel in the US. However my Jetta had a digital speed read out that could be changed to Mph, I figured it must be the same thing so I changed it in the settings and BAM the needle drops to 75 and the units change to mph. That was awesome. :p

Heated steering wheel is amazing, so glad I have that again. Headlights and fog lights are really good. All in all it was a great first impression.

I did notice the transmission or maybe the t-case made a faint whining sound when coasting or coming to a stop a few times. Not overly concerned being brand new everything needs to break in a bit I'm sure.

This morning I started the truck with my phone and brushed off 4" of snow and off I went.

Wonder if our older trucks have that light. It would be great if the recall updated it to come on. Even my 79 Toyota has a 4wd light.

May be a little wishful thinking there. I see the fuel gauge is a little different too so they may have changed the cluster

They did not have a light on the 16 and 17 trucks for 4x4.

Also, make sure to really drive your truck. Don't hold back. The engine and transmission are leaning right now. And I think the valve covers need to seat properly too which sometimes doesn't happen if the truck is babied in the beginning?

I haven't scanned it yet. Two theorys however, First I plugged the block heater in last night as the temp was supposed to get to -30C (-22f). This was after I found were GM stuck the friken cord way up by the windshield wipers , since I didn't want an extension cord hanging off the side of the paint I elected just for last night to leave the hood up slightly just popped 1" and have the extension cord over the engine and out the front over the plastic grille instead of painted fender. All was well until I tried remote starting it this morning only to remember reading in the manual it wont start with the hood open... "Oh Yea"... Oh well.

So it either got mad that it failed to start and threw a light or its a side effect of the -34 (-29f) weather and something..(DEF I suspect) is frozen. Although there is no other indication other than a CEL and it is definitely in some sort of Limp mode as it sounds like a tractor and shakes the truck like crazy when its at idle.

Lunch time, ill grab my Laptop and EFI Live and scan it. Soon to be a Deleted as well.

It would tell you before it goes into limp mode. Limp mode counts down in reduced speed increments and is triggered by a def or other emissions problem.

If it’s shaking that’s something other than limp mode.

I’m scared everyday that my truck will pop up a code. It stinks living in fear haha

Seeing as sensor was at fault status it probably just defaulted to really high temp or really low. Probably effects timing quite a bit causing the rough idle.

Ordered exhaust for it today. Read out the ECM and TCM at lunch time. Scared to tune it might hold off for a few days make sure I dont need any sensors under warranty.

I'm chalking it up to a glitch due to extreme temperature.
