- DIG THIS: Rated towing capacity is a load of crap... This thing is built like a little semi tractor. Get a look at the rear springs on a "half ton" Silverado or F-150 and guess what: Long, flimsy three-leaf springs. The Colorado Z71 with a towing package has FOUR - and they're about 10" shorter too. This rig will tow damn near anything short of Noah's ark without sagging, bobbing, or weaving. I "upgraded" to a Silverado 1500 diesel, currently shopping for helper springs. Yeah, a little buyer's remorse.
