If you were to cancel your extended warranty, would you get your money back? I think RCD mentioned he had done this once, but I can't recall for sure.

Nothing has happened yet to ours and we have 43,000 miles on it so far, but have considered deleting the truck. And if I'm going to do that, it would void the warranty obviously, so might as well get my money back?

What's the verdict though ?

You’re right I have done it before. I always do it when I total a vehicle or trade one in.

The warranty I purchased on this vehicle covered “everything” so even when I was considering deleting I decided to keep the warranty just in case something went out like a seat heater or my link or something. I decided there’s too much $$ technology in this vehicle to gamble considering a headlight on my wife’s Mazda was $1400 (led) and the warranty I purchased was $2000

1400 for a headlight? That's outrageous. I dunno, our extended goes to 120,000 miles and were at 43,000 after 1.5 years.

The thing that prompted me to ask, there on the cfans forum, there was an individual who had something go out on his truck, a reductant pump that failed. Everyone seemed to agree that it was emissions related, but the dealer and GM both said it wasn't and wouldn't cover it under warranty. Not sure what that part is actually.

But if that were to go out on our truck and they wouldn't warranty it, it apparently costs $2000 to fix. For that price I could tune and delete cheaper.
