Hello all! I'm new to this forum, and a relatively new 17 Colorado owner from Oregon. Having just drove my new truck across the country to CT to address some family matters, and of course break the truck in on my extended trip, I've decided to drop the cash and buy a tuner and cold air intake so I have a good comparison on the return trip.
So far Freedom Diesel has sent out the tuner with ECU/TCU tunes and the DSP4 switch ( which shipped direct from the distributor) not a bad 2 day turnaround. Intake should be here Monday. They did neglect to mention that 17s need a ECU unlock(I hope they don't try to nail me for a fee on that). First impression of the tuner was great. Good packaging, all cables included, but... the directions could be more up to date and more model specific, maybe some videos on the duramaxtuner website that cover common installation issues and unlock processes. I've used many tuners over the years, TTS for Harley being the most versital yet complicated I've used; they do have awesome documentation and instructions though along with multiple instructional videos on the web. So far Duramaxtuner.com and EFIlive seem to have a superior product for the Colorado applications and I'm looking forward to testing this setup on a 3400 mile trip back across.
