Has anybody had a problem reseting the computer after adding the Def. I added the Def about 150 miles ago and the computer will not reset.

I didn't fill it 100% all the way and it didn't reset, but once I refilled it to the top, it reset immediately.

Drive up to the DEF pump at a truck stop where DEF is just a few bucks per gallon. If you buy it by the gallon inside it's like $8/gal.
I'll have to find a truck stop close to me that sells the DEF fluid. I've only got 2600 miles on mine but none of the places I've gotten diesel in the past have def.

I do think there is a large "Loves" truck stop about 10-15 miles from me just off of the interstate. I'm sure they'll have it.

Thanks for the heads up on filling it to the top for reset.

I took it to the dealer and he refulled the tank 100% and it reset
Thanks
I know this is a zombie thread and traditional forum etiquette dictates that one should let it die, however after having received the DIC ultimatum to refill my DEF tank, I dumped a 2.5 gallon jug of DEF from O'rely's into the tank. I did not at the time know that it is a 5 gallon tank. Next day, seems all is good. Def ok went for a longish drive and shut her down. Today I get the fill DEF warning and a check engine light. Hoping to finish my refill at the Pilot truck stop tomorrow.

That’s a strange one.
i never fill the def tank. I add the 2.5 gallon jug when the doc says add def.
my truck barely uses any. I can’t remember adding any since last year.
i think you may have another issue than needing def.
I think that having the def tank full in the winter causes issues with the def tank heater working it’s ass off trying to keep the def from freezing.. Or trying to thaw a frozen tank.
And you have probably noticed that def crystallizes as it ages. That crystallization can plug the injector.
A full tank of def is a bad idea. Summer heat shortens it’s shelf life even more
Def has a short life span at the best of times.

It figured it out after driving around a bit. I added another jug anyway, but all the warnings and the check engine light went away.

Good to hear.
i really like my truck but all the sensors and electronics scare the hell out of me.
There is too much to go wrong.
But on the bright side........ at least we don’t have an oil pump being turned by a belt running in motor oil..... spooky
or a valve that directs cooling water to different areas of the motor.

Don't forget that belt driven oil pump is variable too. Don't want to waste fuel doing something silly like keeping your engine from seizing up.
