Hello. Several years ago I had a 2001 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 in it. I ran a product called Quadzilla, this did both tune and monitor. When I sold that truck I instantly regretted it and want my diesel back. Fast forward 10 years and I finally got my diesel back. I recently purchased a 2017 Z71 Colorado with the 2.8. I have dome some work to it tires, suspension, and just had the group over at Calibrated Power do a transmission and DSP4 tune for me.

Now I'm looking to get something to monitor different aspects of the engine/performance. I've been looking at the iDash and Insight. I know there are 2 different versions of the iDash. DataMonster, which has logging abilities, and the SuperGuage that doesn't. The Insight has monitor and a little logging, and I know the whole SD card vs having to remove the device to look at logs. I'm torn between the two. I like the size and some of the other features of the Insight. Then again if the logging is worth it then maybe that's a better way to go.

Keeping in mind I purchased the EFI Live Spade from Calibrated Power. What I'm wanting to know is a couple of things.

1. Which do you feel is better, Insight or iDash and why?
2. If the iDash which model, DataMonster or SuperGuage?
3. Is the DataMonster logging worth it?

Thank you,
Austin

I can't speak for the Insight but I do have a duel gauge pod. I have one of each iDash in the pod. I really like the gauges and they are pretty slick for such a small form factor. The Data collecting is really cool for collecting when you're looking at the gauges. Not only can you pull the SD and import into a PC but you can replay stored saved sessions as well. If I had to do it over again I would go the same route. Plus you can clear DTC's that get set as well.

I usually start a session when I'm towing my trailer.

Thank you. I like the thought of not having to pull the device just to get the logs from it. What gauge pod are you using? I haven't found any for the Colorado. I've actually been thinking about designing and printing one for the dash.

It took me a little doing to find something I liked. It's not cheap but I really like the gauge placement. I don't have a pic of the whole thing on my phone but the 1st pic is the top gauge and the second pic is the bottom one.
On the first one you can see the SD right under the BANKS wording. It's extremely easy to grab it if needed.
