Do not buy the Colorado diesel

I made the mistake and forked over way too much money and purchased the new 2.8 Chevy Colorado diesel. I traded my trusty 2011 Toyota Tacoma. This Colorado has been in the shop longer than I have owned it. The turbo charge malfunctioned and I was left with no engine power on a very busy freeway. It is understandable that problems will arise in newly made engines. Although this engine has been produced in other countries since 2012, the parts are not readily available. If you purchase this truck and something breaks, good luck on getting it replaced quickly. I would not buy this truck if I had another chance.

Sorry to hear about your problems. My truck has been awesome with no mechanical or build quality issues. Hopefully GM will get your truck fixed quickly.
One correction, this is not the same engine that has been produced in other countries around the globe. Similar, but definitely a new engine.

In many of the reviews I have watched they have been saying that this is a 5 year old engine made in 2011, World tested if you will, be entering our market.
I haven't had a single problem at all.......
3020 Miles and no problems except for the MyLink.

I've had mine since memorial weekend, have 9800 miles and it's been in the shop 6 times. It loves to go into limp mode either when I'm really far from home, really late at night, or right before I'm supposed to leave on.a long trip!! I wanted this truck since they mentioned putting a diesel in it and jumped on the first deal I found... Now I'm regretting it.
9000 miles on my 17 Canyon - no issues!!!

I have 14500 miles on ours and I have had it since last Aug. of 2017. Only 1 issue with it and it was a fluke occurrence and hasn't had the issue since. Quite happy so far. Mac:)

14,300 miles and only issue was a defective window motor. Spent about 1/4 of the Miles off-roading. Traverse as far north as Vancouver BC, Far East as Denver and as far south as San Felipe. Also touches the sand on the western beach of dogweiler. Within 3 weeks, it will be adding another 3500 miles.
I have owned My ZR2 Duramax for 1 month now and it has been in the shop (4) times. The latest trip was to replace the EGR valve.

The next morning the check engine light went on again. I have dropped it off at the dealership for good( depending on my battle with GM). If any one has advice on this subject please point me in the right direction. In the meantime I have som 589 Fab shock skids, ARB compressor mount, and Roto pax mount for sale. They were never installed.

Bummed
