well, it happened again. This time we were in Beaver Utah. Reduced Power message and check engine light. Pulled over, unhitched the trailer and drove to GMC dealership in Cedar City. “Just like deja vu all over again.”

3-5 days until the part arrives. Last year DPF failed near Missoula Montana. Only 10k miles later and here we are.

after reading discussions on this site, i have been hyper vigilant about maintenance.
We are fortunate the failure did not occur on a remote section of highway. We drove from Northern California to Ely Nevada and traveled “the loneliest road in America”. Also Utah has some long stretches of nothing.

Sorry about your loss, the EPA has truly crippled diesel engines.

I had a bad DPF sensor that caused my issue. The DPF was fine it turns out but the sensor was erroneously saying it was full. They might want to check replacing that instead. Swapped the sensor back at 70k miles and the only complaint I have is the truck always picks just before I get home to regen.

Also happened to me a month ago. . The day after picking up my new to me '18. It's in the shop again, this time for the NoX sensor. About 20,500 miles on the odometer. GM is out of the sensor, so it's sitting at the dealership and they're playing the "which dealer wants to give up this part" game. They gave me a '21 Canyon as a loaner. Gasser. I'm not a fan. I want MY truck back!

Sorry to hear this. I will tell you the canyon towed better than the two full size loaner vehicles the dealership gave me. The first was a suburban which was terrible at towing. The second was a 1/2 ton truck that towed better than the suburban but not as well as the canyon.

I also can’t speak highly enough about the dealership in Montana and Utah. They were both very nice

Great pic!
Where was that?
Corps of Engineers J. Strom Thurmond Lake on SC/GA state line where I was volunteering last year. Beautiful, a fisherman's lake and a very nice campground, all with lake views and most with direct access!

Still getting updates from Onstar even though I traded my Colorado months ago. Says battery is low and Emissions are malfunctioning. Been sitting on the dealer's lot the whole time.

Not to crap all over the Colorado, but yeah the dealer deserves it.
