Crap. Facebook. I will have to get my wife to pull it up.
Curious, how is the boost managed at the turbo.Didn't know if any of you had seen this post from DT yet. Saw it on their Facebook page. Then the owner of the company, Nick Priegnitz, made this post on the 2.8 Duramax LWN Owners page today. They are steadily working on it. 41mm turbo wheel vs 37mm stock wheel. He said they are working on trying to push it to it's limit and break it to see what it can handle. Can't wait to see how it does and what you gain. Would definitely consider one. Here's the FB thread link:

I think he is wondering how it will effect the variable vane turbo. The turbos geometry is controlled by the ecu. For example, it closes off the turbo for an "exhaust brake" effect using the turbos back pressure.??????
Could you elaborate on your question, I'm not understanding.
Sure...My question was asking if the turbo in the babymax is variable vane vs bleed off valve. I seriously doubt if the turbo is too small, but how it is managing air into would be a source of a considerable amount of tweaking.Especially if it is done so with variable vanes.??????
Could you elaborate on your question, I'm not understanding.
I think you've answered my previous question. ThanksI believe so, because they are separate files. They're loaded into the ecu separately. I have loaded my stock tune back into the truck while leaving the trans tune on the truck. However, I ended up towing that weekend and thought the power band wasn't matching the trans shifts. I tow pretty heavy, and I thought it was upshiftint too early expecting more power to be on tap
I really enjoy my trans tune, but it worries me more than the engine tune because I believe the trans is the weak link in the truck and I don't how how a trans tune will effect the warranty if I kill it while tuned and towing heavy.
If you email duramaxtuner they're fantastic with communication. They even help when I have an unrelated problem or question because they're so familiar with the platform.
Wouldn’t they just be changing the housing so that more air goes through? That is what I did with my Cummings 5.9 and it works great.Super interested in turbo upgrade but kinda wondering a few things. I could be off with my thinking, feel free to bounce ideas out here cuz that's what I'm doing here.
With just a tune im sitting at the max transmission input torque rating. That's Actually why they stopped at that number and don't want you towing above tune 2. So, making more power isn't a smart idea UNLESS this would give a stock tuned truck more power without a tune but I don't know if the computer would adjust for that on its own.
Doesn't a big turbo take longer to spool? Everybody complains about the hesitation already. Wondering what it would do.
Im still learning about turbos, honestly. Duramaxtuner just put a video on YouTube last week and they’re experimenting with larger compressor wheels in the 2.8 turbo (41mm and 44mm)Wouldn’t they just be changing the housing so that more air goes through? That is what I did with my Cummings 5.9 and it works great.
