Been looking for a truck for years, and finally decided on a '16 Z71 Colorado crew cab long bed diesel with 80k miles. It's my first diesel vehicle, and will be using it for daily driving and the occasional road trip. Really liked the capability, interior, and the driving dynamics 1000x better than the Tacoma I was cross shopping it with. Carfax was clean with service records and the truck is immaculate. Really happy with it so far, been contemplating getting an extended warranty due to the amount of engine failures I'm seeing on here, as well as transmission failures, but I'd like to do some prevention as well.
Already purchased Optilube XL that I will be adding with every fuel up, and I'm considering doing the Sasquatch oil catch can setup as well. Just trying to protect my investment and get some years out of it.
If anyone has any input, I'm all ears, and I'm happy to be a member here!
Welcome to the party. Catchcan is a good idea and I've been using Optilube from day one as well. These 2.8's are just the perfect size power plant for these trucks. Have fun and Enjoy!
