An intercooled exhaust tip??? What is an intercooled exhaust tip?

I mean, this right here Amazon.com: MBRP T5151 T304 Dual Wall Angled Tip (4-1/2" O.D, 3" Inlet, 8" Length): Automotive is the one I purchase for my truck. I don't have the stock exhaust pipe though, it is a 3" OD pipe.
What he's talking about is:
If you look into the original exhaust tip, it has an opening to be able to draft cooler air where the tip meets the actual exhaust pipe, especially during a regen, to keep the exhaust tip from getting to stupid hot.

I like my OEM exhaust tip, but I painted it hi-temp wrinkle black. Looks better to me than the 'galvan' look!

Interesting. I also wondered why the tip was like this. I had noticed it on other diesels but never thought why it was there. I had assumed it was to cool it because people nowadays are too stupid to realize you can get burned from an exhaust pipe. Maybe the Tesla greenies don't know what an exhaust pipe is? LOL

Regens actually makes more sense!

Not sure why my previous post has been hung up in moderator approval for the past week but maybe this one will go through.

The AFE Hi-tuck exhaust is really nice. It's DPF-back so it goes on with all the factory emissions. I believe you can also get the tip by itself without all the plumbing.

Got a picture of it? I'm interested in seeing it!
Sorry to be so late, but we have been up in Northern Manitoba boondocking, and, wonderfully speaking, devoid of cell service!
