Anyone know about Great White North?

"Off road" tuning? Spoke to them, discussed products. thinking of tuning.

Anyone here have any experience with them or know anyone that does?

I can't seem to find much with the goggles as far as "reviews" or anything else.

I have however seen the name mentioned in the forums.

So I'd like to hear the good, bad or indifferent if anyone has anything.

Thanks.

I talked to them when gde went away. They seem like they have good customer service but I haven't used any of their products. I changed my mind on deleting for now so I never pulled the trigger.

I actually dealt with them and they are great. I went through them for my uh.. off-road only truck. They always respond to emails and are quick to respond and friendly. Highly recommend

I got my “off road” tunes from GWN and they are great. I have their transmission tunes as well and it definitely improves the shifts without making them too harsh. Customer service was great and I had my tunes back within an hour of sending them over and the shipping on their exhaust and tuner was fast.

What he said.

HIGHLY recommend them for their services.

Always responsive quickly, and callbacks on a busy signal.

Return emails within 20 minutes during business hours.

Great experience in total .

Man this is great! I was just putting together a Livewire and EGR relocation kit from GWN Diesel. I've been banned from the other forums for talking about relocating some stuff. If you guys say they're legit then heck yeah, I know of another one I was going to go with but I don't want to spend the money on the ez lynk, if your interested just PM me and ill give you the details.

I will post my review hopefully on Saturday as all my supplies arrived today. I sent my factory files and had my reply in minutes. Also I asked about 20 stupid questions which they answered quickly.

Out of curiosity, which of the 5 "levels" are you running. Mine has an old enough base that it does not support DSP4 on the fly, so I will have to pick one to try. I wasn't looking for performance, I was merely trying to solve the issues I have been having. Was thinking economy in the middle would be a good choice.

My truck does not support the switch either which is very unfortunate and I wish it did. It all depends on what I’m trying to do. I tow a 20 foot bass boat that weighs about 4500 pounds with the trailer and when on the scales the truck and trailer are right at 9800 pounds. When I make day trips to the lake I drop it to tune 2 and when I made my 3000 mile round trip to Michigan I dropped it to 1 to prevent soot on the boat. For everyday driving I leave it in 3 because it is a happy medium between fuel efficiency and fast. When buddies come to town and wanna race I put it in 5 and it seems to pick up power, also produces a ton of smoke which is quite fun to roll coal on people and I had the speed limiter removed in 5. But for the most part when I don’t tow it’s in tune 3.

It will definitely solve that issue. I had the def bad message four times it would heal itself overnight but that was enough for me to decide to get rid of it all.
My truck is a 2019 and that is unacceptable with 25,000 MI to be giving me grief over that this soon.

I was looking for a bit better economy and also less repairs down the road.

I've had it all, bad DEF, "Reduced Power", Top speed limited to XX for XXX miles eventually going down to 5mph, "Keep Driving - Cleaning Exhaust Filter" - when it is not even doing a regen messages. Right now I am averaging 7mpg for this week which is down from 11mpg, I have ran 2 service regens today to get it out of reduced power, normally I need to run 3. As soon as it warms up it runs a its own regen, my average miles between regens is 56. I am probably missing something. The dealer has pulled every excuse in the book, you don't drive far enough, you live at too high of altitude (which this I think there is some truth too), its too cold there for a diesel engine, you listen to the radio too loud. It has stranded me multiple times when I could not get it to run a service regen because of a big in Gretio that required internet access (that is now fixed). I am just so over the restrictions of this system, and crippling my fuel economy to 7mpg is hardly helping with clean air.

My problems started as as soon as I rolled out of the lot at 36,180. It was suppose to be certified used with the warranty. Now I know why at the last minute it was traded in, and would not have the certified warranty, it had already cost GM too much in repairs and at the last minute on the deal that said it would not have the certified warranty. I should have known better. Old GM pulllin' a fast one out.

Just do it now while you can.

Thats way too much bs to deal with..
Do you live in a colder climate? If it gets below 15 degrees and DEF will start to freeze, at 12 degrees it will be a solid rock. The tank has a sensor, which knows the temp of the DEF and it is suppose to not try and pump DEF until it has heated the tank up and warmed the sensor, but 0 degrees or -20 was probably too harsh of conditions to subject GM's contracted testers to work in so I doubt they did any testing under 20 degrees. All of my bad DEF messages have been when it was well below 0.

GM also did zero testing at altitude, which is odd. Every manufacturer in the world brings there cars to Summit County, CO and drives them over Loveland Pass which I happen to live practically on. I see camouflaged test cars everyday. I know what hotels the drivers stay at, where they go drinking at the end of the day, etc. The drivers are not employers of the manufacturers but rather contracts from a few Michigan based test firms, even for non US made cars. While Loveland Pass is a mere 11.991 feet, I spend a lot of time in the 12-13k foot range. At almost precisely 12,600 feet the check engine comes on and I have a P0106. The dealer has replaced the MAP sensor, and told me to stop driving at "extreme altitudes". My reduced power they say is from driving in extreme cold. The dealers are trained on every BS excuse in the book to get out of fixing anything because there is no fix. If you don't like their answer they will just hold onto your truck for weeks saying they are waiting for "parts" and hope you give up and come get it, only to go to another GM dealer and get the same run around. An they share information. so if you go to another dealer, they will say, oh I see they already told you how to fix this and you didn't like there response. Um I didn't bring it in to be told to change my driving habits, I brought it in to be fixed. I old enough to have owned probably 20 cars and trucks now and I have never had problems or as many problems with a vehicle as I have with this one. And every problem seems to be related to something to do with emmisions controls. I am hoping this fix package I have will fix it for good.
