Greetz,

Just factory ordered my 2018 Canyon Diesel SLT 4x4 Diesel Mid January. ETA March/April 2018 :)

I'm not too familiar with diesel engines and my buddy told me I should get the block heater option since its cold here in Canada and he said Id need it. (Didn't add that option) Any other tips for a new DMAX owner?

Prior to this I was driving a 2004 GMC Canyon Z71 SLE (Original Owner); GM should have a loyalty bonus or something!

Cheers!

In Canada it would probably help. It's just going to help the truck start easier in the cold temps. These trucks still start good in the cold though with just the glow plugs and running a good anti-gel fuel additive.

Depends on where in Canada you are. Won’t need in Toronto or Vancouver or lower Maritimes.
Anywhere it could get below -25 C, get a block heater.
