Hi fello Duramax owners, new member! My Colorado broke down while leaving work on Monday with only 8500 Miles!! Check engine light came on and suddenly I started losing power/throttle response. I pulled over and checked the engine for any obvious concerns. I get the vehicle towed to the nearest Chevy dealer since it is under warranty. Next day the dealer calls stating my exhaust particle filter is clogged beyond repair and must be replaced, out of my pocket for $2,600! GM will not cover my vehicle repair because I installed an after market (K & N) air intake system on the vehicle. They also stated that they found a lose mass air flow sensor connector which may have contributed to my truck brake down. When I went to the dealer that same day I ask the service advisor and service advisor manager for the evidence backing their claim that these two items were the cause for my DPF malfunction and they refused to give me anything other then what the service tech wrote. I towed my vehicle to another dealer in Colorado Springs for a second opinion but apparently the dealer emailed GM corporate and all Chevy dealers in the region, pretty much black labeling me. I put a claim in with GM corporate and I have not heard back from them. I do not have a problem paying for repairs if it is my fault but I would like facts, evidence of the troubleshooting they performed. I did some internet research and found that the same emission issue my vehicle has is happening to other Chevy Colorado Duramax but they refuse to listen. Bloggers on this site have stated issues with the DPF system but I guess GM is not concerned at the moment. Need assistance if anyone can provide some please.
