I was hoping to log some easy high mpg miles yesterday, but we had snow and the Interstate was moving at 35-45 mph. Then, on the way back we had to take surface streets for half the trip due to a pile up on the freeway. Barely got my 450 mile avg over 20 mpg.

I have a little over 15,000 miles already! Mileage is staying pretty consistent around 24 mpg in town and was around 28 mpg on the interstate, until recently I started using Stanadyne fuel additive. Now at 75 mph over a 3 hour one way drive I got 30.2 mpg. I did pull my 19' Xpress bass boat 14 hours each way to Canada this summer. Bed of the truck was level full of gear, suit cases in the back seat and two of was up front. Cruise set on 70 mph most the time, truck averaged 20.4 mpg over the whole trip. The last two years I made the same trip with a 2016 Silverado 4x4 5.3 v8. It got 14 mpg. Pretty happy with this truck so far!

2018 Z71 w stock tires and got 28 mpg (from driver information screen) on a 2800 mile round trip from Denver to Oregon. Was mostly interstate driving at 70-75 mph with ~1000-lb payload.

I just drove my stock 2018 Z71 (with about 15,000 miles on the odometer) about 180 miles round trip, mostly interstate. I drove the speed limit the whole way (60 mph to 75 mph). According to the DIC (which has been very accurate when I hand calculate), I got almost 34 mpg. I realize that was under nearly ideal conditions (I say nearly because it was at about 6,000' elevation), and was a pretty small sample, but still. That's impressive!

I have driven to Florida and back to Binghamton, NY 5 times. I have averaged over those trips 32.2. In town I have averaged 23.9. Towing on the highway with a tractor on my trailer, 26.7. Overall since I bought this Canyon 4x4 diesel I have averaged 26.67. I absolutely love my canyon.

just finished a 650 mile trip from charleston, sc back to ohio, topped off tank prior to leaving and completed the entire 10 hr trip without stopping for fuel ( food and bladders were another issue altogather). DIC read 36.2 mpg. this was thru the mountains of NC, Virginia and WV and mostly highway (70+ mph) . very happy with performance and mileage.

Bought a 2017 STL Canyon 2.8L in September with 32,700 miles on it. As far as I know it's stock and has not been tuned. I added a Racor 4500 oil catch can about 1500 miles back. We've towed our 5500# hybrid RV about 400 miles and I've put a total of about 2500 miles on it. A lot of my driving is 10-15 mile rural trips at 55 MPH. I gently acelerate when I start out. I take my foot off the pedal at least 1/4 mile before upcoming stop signs and allow the truck to coast. My average has run about 27 MPG.

Motor Trend is reporting 23.2/31.4/26.3 (mpg city/highway/combined) when they tested the Colorado Diesel.

I'm curious what everyone else is getting.

Post your numbers in here!
Just drove 3,000 miles back and forth from Pittsburgh to Denver. Truck did 28.3 MPG with about 700# in cargo weight. Only change to the vehicle from stock was a hard tonue cover for the bed.

In town I average about 23 mpg for short drives.

2017 ZR71. Stock, I was getting 28 MPG average and 31 MPG on the interstate. I don't live in the city so no stat for that. Eight months ago, I install an AFE Cold Air Intake system and my interstate MPG went to 32. The truck has 43,000 miles on it.

24.8/ 26.9 mostly I wish mine was closer to advertised but the Texas Hill Country allow me and my leadfoot much better. The best I ever got was 29.9 on the Interstate on a trip to Houston. For a 4x4 that is pretty good in my book.

I am now at 30,000 miles on my 2019 Z71. I had many issues with sensors, replaced belt tensioner, pulleys and just two weeks ago had to replace turbo. Running great today but for how long? Anyway I do have a shell on short bed. My commute in down hill 40 miles highway and 4,000 feet elevation drop and return home daily on the climb. I have averaged 22.5 mpg for a year. I have towed my 4000# trailer on multiple trips across the western states mountain ranges and on those trips averaged 21 mpg. The highest flat land no load highway trip I got 24mpg. I must have the lowest average on this thread. Lucky me!

I need to go on a road trip and blow some crap out of the tailpipe. That, and see what my MPG maxes out at with no air dam and the Duramax Tuner.

2016 Z71 CCSB. I ignore city/mixed mpg, because i city drive a lot so no point fretting about mediocre numbers. On the highway, when stock, was running 28-34 mpg, depending greatly on conditions, weather/wind, speed/traffic. Since doing the air dam delete and a 1.75" level-lift (and 1" blocks in the rear) summer 2018, I've seen let's say roughly 27-32 mpg highway, again depending a lot on factors. I hope it doesn't drop much when I upsize the tires by about an inch over stock.

I've had my '16 for just over 3 years and 56,000 miles now. Mostly used as my daily driver on my 20 mile trip to work and then home. Of that trip, its half 55-75 mph highway/freeway and the other half 35-45 mph city. I have averaged 25.7 mpg, according to the DIC, for that entire mileage. When I calculate myself, its more like 25.0. I have seen 28 avg on a few all freeway trips. My truck is rarely loaded with anything but myself. I am in the South Eastern WI area, remote starts during the winter months are common twice a day, so figure that in as well. The truck is completely stock, with the exception of running a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV's for winter duty.

Running the duramax tuner

Tune 3 @70mph
50 miles 22.9 mpg

Tune 4 @70mph
50 miles 22.7 mpg

Tune 4 @65 mph
50 miles 24.7 mpg

Tune 3 @65 mph
50 miles 22.5 mpg (this made no sense)
Tune 3 @75 mph
25 miles 20.9 mpg

This was driving north on I95 from south Florida. It’s flat except for overpasses on the highway. Cruise control set while testing.

This is a 2018 GMC Canyon
Diesel 4x4
Testing done in 2 Wheel drive mode

The truck has a a BDS 5.5 Fox Coilovers suspension lift.

Wheels are Toyo MT 33x12.5r18
Running tire pressure is 40psi
