To my new forum friends: My family and I are safe in OH watching Irma on TV! I'm sure the truck will be in the same place when we return. Hope it's still surrounded by my garage walls!

You are not kidding about relying on internet, cable and such.

We cut cable and it took us 3 months to get use to it.
Interesting fact: The human body can only survive 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, and 3 hours without wifi

3 hours, more like 30 minutes, hahahaha
We are East Central Florida (due east of the north shore of Lake O, five miles from the Atlantic) and we rode out Irma like we have all other storms. Even if the storm came right over us, we would have remained. There were few options as the storm was looking as if it would march right up the state.
More worried about the boat, but like everything else, it survived. One nice thing about owning nothing but diesels is when all stations are out of gas, those offering diesel still had some. No waiting. We filled all three cars several days before the storm and minimized movements. In fact, we have only topped off the Colorado this last Sat. Anyway, glad to hear most fair well during the storm. Now we are waiting to see what Maria is going to do...
