New technology is a great thing, but it must advance the state of the art and be superior in every way while also being possible to reproduce on a large scale. When produced on a large enough scale, costs go down ensuring widespread adoption. If all these cases are true, it needs no subsidies. Who subsidized the creation of the wheel or electricity or gunpowder, all of which had transformative effects on civilization as we know it.

I think GM may actually be listening to the complaints...
I just read that they have increased there warranty to cover vehicles from 2017 up.
And will sell an extended warranty..
Considering all the issues GM has had over the last few years, this sounds like they are trying to keep there market share.
But they need to build a better product too. Not just extend there warranty.
Its great to have a long warranty but who wants there vehicles at a dealership for weeks on end.....

Not just Ford but GM too
Pls change your oil , including transmission and differential, transfer case oil much sooner than GM says. Especially the oil in your diesel.

Wow this is extremely low of Ford.
The 5.0 V8 is burning a lot of oil so Ford decided to lower the add mark on the new longer dipstick that comes with this TSB. How low can a company go ?

Watch this guy talk about the GM 2.7
Some really good info here
until he compares it to the 5.3 gas mileage
So really ! What is GM thinking.
Is there really any gas savings having cyl deactivation on a 4 banger or is this built in guarantied service dep revenue ??????

It's not about saving gas, it's about gross vehicle emissions. Everything is now built to target EPA mandated emissions levels.

Everything the MFGs are doing is resulting in reliability issues.
Parts failures are at an all time high.
Todays engineering is at an all time low.

How much pollution is produced making a new starter compared to fuel saved on cars and trucks with the start stop feature.
The failure rates of cylinder deactivation
And it goes on and on
