Leer Locker. The Included LED light is just above the Green lid on the box. Lights up the big drawer very nicely. Sorry it's well hidden.

Best fit I think I've seen on a cap. Ever.

The leer locker is an overhead storage that swings down?

Can we see the cap from the rear quarter closed up?

The Leer Locker is like a drawer that attaches to the inside top of the cap. You can see videos of it in operation on YouTube. It's great because it keeps the bed open for other items while the drawer is big enough to safely hold several long guns or full load of archery gear or all my fishing gear. The usual small socket set and other tools and Thule surfboard straps are always up there. Kinda limits the view out the back window but its small compared to the benefits.

We went and got a Leer 100XR camper shell. Not as nice as the 100XL, but I like the rear hatch better which is the same as the XL, while the side windows are the same as the 100R. I would like to maybe add some lights under the bed rail like Diselsurf did, but there is an overhead LED light above the door when you open it. I did get a 3 port-12 volt accessory outlet along with carpeted shell interior and pet screens on the windows for when our dogs are back there and a sliding rear window. I would like to eventually add either a swing out toolbox on the side, or perhaps get roof racks and the Leer Locker.

It does seem to get very dirty very easily though. I could hardly see through the rear glass (tinted too) by time I drove an hour home on wet roads from the spray kicking up on it. Also, I could see that it would be very handy in winter conditions if they made the rear glass heated to melt ice and snow off of. You already have power back there for the 3rd brake light. Wouldn't be much harder to add strips to the glass to heat it up.

Like the look of it and it should work really well. Easy open with just one latch too.

That looks great.
I love my leer shell.
Side note, what side steps are on your truck?

Thanks. I would have liked to get the flip up side windows like that, but you couldn't get the pet screens though. Although, I do like the half windows you got on yours so you can still open them up. That might have worked for what we have, but oh well.

And they are the Westin HDX Drop Steps. Got them off of RockAuto.com. Here is the link the steps. They are $287.79 btw http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8449000&cc=3435121&jsn=422
@Burgess159 the plug is already under the bed for the gm under bed rail accessory led lighting. FYI
Hey thanks for the link. That is a great price and I like the look.
We have 3 dogs and the flip up side windows have screens on them. The half windows slid back and the screens are in place. Work great for our pups. Been to Mexico and all over the USA with them and plenty of airflow.
I think with Leer, you can switch the side windows out if desired..
Thanks again...

Thanks, I did not know that.

Changing them out would be nice. May have to look into that sometime down the road if it would help, but we'll see how this works.
Has anyone ever taken their truck with camper shell through an automated car wash? I believe in the owners manual it says to not do that, but does not say why. Can it take the paint off or would it possibly cause water to leak through the windows due to the high pressure of the car wash?
I do every couple months and haven’t noticed any issues at all. I’d be more worried using a personal power washer.

On the camper shells, I know I've only had mine for about a month now, but it didn't take me long to see this problem with them.

Do they make windshield wiper attachments for them? Because I could see that being very handy. Can't really even see out of the back of the window for all of the snow and road spray that kicks up on there while driving around. Plus the window is tinted so it doesn't take much to not be able to see out of the window. Also, having a heat strip on the back glass for melting snow and ice off would be nice too.

Yeah, I don't know about a wiper set up for it. The road dirt build up is an issue. For me it's just one small annoyance. The Leer Locker already blocks the top 1/4 of the back window anyway. Thank God for the back up camera.

Side mirrors, ftw! My backup cam is completely useless in the dark or the wet. The tag lights shine directly into the cam!
Anyone have a height of a cap with the racks on top? I looked at a new Colorado today and the top of the bed at the back measured 54", I'm wanting to know what the cap & rack add to it to ensure I'll be able to still fit in my somewhat short garage door!
Mine is 73.5 inches high. 6 foot one and a half inches. Soon to be 5.5 inches taller.
