A little update, I love this truck. I will miss the ease of parking the Collie but the 1500 really is way more comfortable. I expect to be doing some windshield time when towing the RV so comfort is important. The mileage is almost identical to the LWN (it's sitting at 27.4 average right now) but it's really got some get up and go. I dug into it on a back road in the middle of no where and it jumped to 105 like right now. I got out of it so I don't really know where the speedo lock is set. Some have said factory is 108 but as of now no direct conformation.
The 10 speed is really smooth and for those in the know it's shifts like a 2 stroke motocross bike except the power-band is everywhere. You don't feel the trans down shift at all and again up shifts are real smooth. The shift points are programmed where the should be and that's a nice change, all though the LWN was fine after the GDE trans tune was installed. I only have about 650 miles on it so far so that's about all I can offer at this point. I installed a Retrax tonneau cover last night which I really like and the 43 gallon Titan fuel tank was shipped out today.
Now for some meh moments.
#1 The multipro talegate is very functional and cool, but, if you have your hitch ball on and forget and open the center section and then drop the outer section it will most certainly ruin your day as it will crash right into the hitch.
#2 No overhead sun glass holder, pretty low cost item to omit. I will say the door pockets are much more functional and there is more general storage space all around. The center console has 4 cup-holders which I really like.
#3 The box under the rear seat is a lot smaller then the Gen2 box yet the seat is a lot larger. That was a WTF moment when I realized that. For me, not really a big deal as I didn't really use the under seat storage on the Collie but "come on GM". They could have extended the box another 12" for the whole width of the truck.
More to come along the way and a better pic below.
