New Truck on order

Well Gen-2 kids, I've ordered a 23 Sierra Denali 3.0 LZ0 (a week ago). Who knows what the delivery time will be but when it comes in I will sadly be trading my Collie in for it. I really love this truck but I want some more interior elbow room when traveling and it will give me another 400 lbs of carry capacity. Not to mention, the 2023 LZ0 with 305 HP and 495 lbs ft of torque would be welcome too. :)

If any one is interested I have amongst other things:
Brand new, in sealed packages, NOX sensor 1 and 2 and a particulate sensor that I carried when traveling.
A brand new script (not the cheep Chinese one) gen2 grill I never installed. Was waiting for the other one to get beat up before installing.
Full AFE 3" stainless turbo back exhaust with Black Tip .......EDIT: chrome tip
If someone really wanted it, a used Titan 36 gallon fuel tank (I would have to remove it but if the price is right I will). Long bed owners only.
A brand new set of ProFab intercooler pipes (hot and cold side)
And probably some other stuff I've forgotten about...lol

EDIT: gen2 Helms usb service manual.

Shipping and packaging would be actual cost.
PM me if interested I can take pictures and so on.

My point that engine for sure will eat the baby mac's lunch, but I question a 4-cylinder gasser putting out that type of horse power and torque. How long will it last? Yeah I am old school but I don't doubt it's performance. If I decided on gas I would go 6.2 ltr all day.
That thing is a dam rocket but I am not into that anymore. I will follow SFL lead if I upgrade and go 3.0 diesel.
Just my 2 cents.

Now doubt smokin that 4-bagger will be a smoke show. I could be wrong but I don't think they offer the 23 midsize with long box. Maybe I am wrong but still not convinced it will pull as civilized as the baby MAC. Sure probably faster and I will admit stronger, but noiser for sure.
I think the 2.7 will really motivate in the Gen3 trucks. It will be interesting to see someone who tows around 5000 to 6000 lbs what their thoughts are going to be. It's a given due to the differences in energy density that the gas motor will use more fuel at a given load then the diesel. I'm so interested to see how this all shakes out after a year or two of the gen3's being out in the wild.

Nice truck. Nice color. Thanks for sharing. I'll admit when you mentioned the 10 speed transmission I shuddered a bit. No pun intended. 🤣.

First Tow.
Well I can say that the first impressions on towing with this truck is a big WOW and a smile. The trip was a small one about 150 miles each way and was really more of a shake down trip. The fuel consumption was right on par with the LWN in the area of 14mpg. The 0 to 60 times without even trying are vastly faster and the 10 speed shifts extremely smooth. The LWN would hold a gear longer then the 10 speed does when diggin into the throttle (which stands to reason with shorter gear sets).

Personally I think they could do better on the TCM programming side and allow a little more gear holding when lightly accelerating without downshifting as much. But again I have been driving since the 70's and the LWN was the first automatic I've owned as my daily driver, I'm not a fan of an auto to start with (yup control freak ask the wife she'll tell ya) lol.

Stability while driving is also vastly improved. You hear the wind noise from a semi rolling by but I didn't feel any movement at all. The seats being higher put you into a more natural seated position and were more comfortable for the better half and I alike. I did install the 43 gallon Titan tank and that thing just rocks. 300 miles round trip and it moved just one bar off of full. I also installed a Retrax Tonneau and I'm liking that change from a cap as well.

All in all I'm liking the decision at this point in time.
We shall see where it goes from here.

Also I may of asked but what is your payload again? It's on the door jam.

30' tongue to end of box, 5300 dry, 700 lbs of added stuff, 790 tongue weight and the payload is 1472 on the truck. It's not really any different really from the LWN towing payload. I did do about 22K miles towing it with the Colorado so it's a solid comparison in my book. It was even to the same camp ground which a group meet up each year and this was the 4th time going there.

Hope this helps.

You were smart to move up. Better for both you and for those driving close to you.

I don't know about the "those driving close to you" part. I never felt unsafe and the tail never wagged the dog. I always maintained a safe speed and honestly it towed well. The Sierra just adds more stability but again the interior comfort was more of a deciding factor on the change. Plus the 2018 and earlier injectors always sat in the back of my mind. Not to say it can't happen of the new one but I felt it was eventually going to find me on the Colorado.

Let's try again :)
Installed Boost towing mirrors this week.
Putting them on is not so bad. If you purchase with lights like I did it takes awhile at least for me and my buddy.

Hey out of curiosity how crusty was the pot metal on your factory mirrors when you removed them? Mine were pretty bad and I was surprised that GM didn't coat them with anything. I know eventually they would have caused run marks down the side of the front two doors.
Not bad really but my truck is a 2021.

Does anyone think the factory mirrors would be worth anything?
I have two Silver ones if needed.
