I bought a set of Deezee running boards DZ16321 and recommended mounts DZ16319, for my 2019 Canyon.

Long and short of it, they basically are cosmetic only as they sit way to close to the door sill plate to be of any use as actual steps. I called DZ and asked about alternate mounts, they say they do not offer any. They also stated that most now a days are more designed for appearance and body side protection than actual step. Why even get the darn things?

As they are already installed, and I do like them. a bit of time with a plasma cutter and welder will make them useful. But, I am wondering, has anyone else out there accomplished similar with some alternate mounts, if so what are those mounts? or has anyone ran across similar and found an alternate board that would achieve a decent step.

Thanks,

If you search the ColoradoFans forums, you'll find a number of long threads talking about all the different nerf, running, and rocker boards offered. Lots of folks talking about step height and sharing images of their installs. It's the same body/frame no matter which engine, so no point in isolating the discussion here for only 2.8D owners.

Sorry didn't know of the Colorado Fans Forum...only this one. Thanks, I Will go and check it out. did not see any posts here on the topic is why I Posted here.

Sadly the DeeZees I bought are useless as steps, and I am not about to order another set just to get a step action. Instead will get the plasma cutter and welder out to make custom hangers for these to make them what they should have been from the manufacturer.
