Hi,

Chevrolet will be releasing a diesel Silverado soon, which should fit my needs.better (more headroom, the roof height on the Colorado has turned into a deal breaker for me). I use my truck for commuting, hauling kids, dogs, and hunting in that order. While I have enjoyed the Colorado my Crew Cab short box z71, has a really harsh ride. (yes I know its a truck).

I am looking for suggestions from forum members that are familiar with the Silverado and can provide insights as to which trim level Silverado or Sierra 1/2 ton has the easiest ride. My plan is to get a 4x4 short bed crew cab.

Thanks in advance
Chuck

I would pass on the z71 trim and the tow pkg if your looking for comfort. Also those 20” wheels everyone likes don’t help with ride quality one bit.

If you don’t tow regularly, I would pass on a diesel Silverado.
The new 3.0 Duramax has some very technologically advanced design elements but the belt driven variable volume oil pump and timing chain/injection pump drive at the back of the motor concerns me in the long term.
For hunting, the RST trim may suit you best.
Although a diesel 10 speed is also mighty attractive......
