I wanted to add a few exterior courtesy lights to the outside of my truck, so that when I unlock the doors these lights come on.

I see where the aftermarket towing mirrors have this option which makes me wonder...Is there built into the factory harness (for mirror or door) a connecter already present that can be tapped into?

I have thought about mounting them below the rocker and tying into the reverse lights that DO come one when the doors are unlocked, but figured I would ask about the door/mirror harness first. Prefer to hear from anyone that might have already done such rather than just go pulling door skins off to see if it is or not. To date have not been able to find a schematic for the car unless I buy the ever so costly FSM.

Thanks for any input.

I cannot say for certain about these trucks, as they seem to lack some of the power features of their big brothers, however if I recall correctly the aftermarket mirrors with lighting for the side of the truck require an additional power line to be run from the fuse box.

Thanks for the input. Power wise I am not so concerned. I want to find a trigger wire that will activate my externals the same way the interior courtesies or backups come on when the fob activates the door unlock....dont really want to rip out my ceiling and door jambs to run a wire that way....was trying to find the fuse that is tied to the internal courtesies and maybe go that way but by owner manual references nothing on that either. If I proceed with this at the moment will tie into the backups unless I can find more info.
