We plan to have some fun with the truck...have had 2 H3s and 2 H1s, so we have some experience!
Brought it home yesterday...and this truck is definitely bada*s! My Z71 was trouble free for the 10 months and 13k miles I owned it, hope the ZR2 is a "good" one too!
Awesome. Mine should be here next week, I am trading in a 16 LT Canyon . Is the ride noticeably different than the 16's?
Pics or it didn't happen ;):D
Oh I did it...and I love it! A noticeable difference in the first 150 miles...it even sounds different, but maybe that's my imagination. Nicely sprung but stiff ride, like any vehicle with off-road suspension. Nice having leather again, standard in ZR2. 47115 MSRP so it was an expensive sucker, only options on the truck besides the Duramax (3500) were the Bose (500) and Mylink/nav (495). I paid 45200 by getting a GM supplier # from a GM brand rep, but most dealers I talked to were selling at MSRP plus an addendum for some dealer added crap. They are still pretty scarce, and I would check the locator every couple of days o see what was available within 1000 miles. I looked at one with the bed-mounted spare, looks cool in the desert shots but takes up the entire bed because it's mounted in the middle at an angle...and no hardware to hang the spare if you want to move it. It's still a truck and I like to use it as a truck! Curious as to why GM used a 31" tire, it's going to look incredible with a larger tire. It does seem to have been as purpose engineered as anything from GM can be, so I'm sure there's some logic behind 31" tires, but my gut is it will be rolling on something a little larger within the next year? For now, I'm going to learn the truck and will continue to use it as my daily driver on my 70 mile round trip commute. We are planning to take it up to Hardrock in Ocala next Sunday for some mild wheeling. I'll stay out of the woods and heavy mud, but they have some rocks and a couple of pretty steep climbs. BTW, I ended up getting the truck at Cox in Bradenton, same place my Z71 came from. Oscar, their sales manager, offered me all of the professional courtesy I would expect, but then again, I've worked in a Cadillac dealership for 22 years so the whole deal was relatively easy.

Yes, ride is noticeably stiffer, and I think smoother if that makes sense. I have commuted to the same dealership for 14 yrs, I don't even have to look at the speedo to know how fast I'm going, but I found myself flying yesterday and today. I had a Z71 with the Goodyear Duratrac tire, so the road noise is pretty comparable. And I think the 50mm lift puts it at a great ride height too...who says 1.97" doesn't make a difference!
He showed you, unbeliever :D
Haha...that's funny! But my wife Georgia will tell you that if I say I'm buying a car, I buy a car! Cadillac alone we've had a dozen...10 of them in the last 22 years! It's an illness for which I hope they never find a cure
Oh hush, y'all. I believed. I just wanted to see.
What's the actual tire size they come with?

(just wondering, ive got that "clone" wannabe zr2)
Love those fender flares. Gotta get me some.

How are the dynamic suspension spool valves dampeners? That's one thing I'm curious about. I'm a super geek when it comes to suspension and it's even worse since my brother became and engineer for fox shox

31", same as the Z71...at least 2" too small, but not sure how a larger tire will affect the suspension

Can't really tell on the street, but it definitely rides different than the Z71. I'm going to take it out to the off-road park next Sunday...will let you know if they make a difference at low speed, as I'm sure I'll not be doing any jumping or sand dune racing anytime soon!

Didn't make it Sunday! But don't lose faith in me yet!
Mine showed up Monday. The ride is quite different than my 16 Canyon LT. Much nicer on big bumps. There is literally no in cab noise on the smaller pothole type bumps. I am actually very impressed so far. The height is surprisingly tall. I assumed I would have to lift it a little but I don't think I will. I am certain I can get a 295/70/17 (Roughly 34")under it with mild body trimming.
